Rugby Skills with Mason

Rugby Skills with Mason from room6 on Vimeo.

On Tuesday 22nd June 2011 Mason a Rippa Rugby coach from the Wellington Rugby Union came in to teach us some basic rugby skills. The skills were ten finger contact (holding the ball in two hands). We got into a circle and got five balls and passed the balls round the circle and looked back each time we past a ball round. Next we did a track. It was to put the ball in two hands and run, side ways, diagonal and straight. Last of all we played a game. You need five passes of a rugby ball to your team one point.

In our session we learned that the best way to catch a rugby ball is to put your hands out and pretend to play the piano and to bend your knees and look up. The other thing is to be dynamic which means to be sharp, fast and pointy.
