Recount Writing

In writing we are learning to write recounts.
This is our first piece of writing.  We wrote together our success criteria for our writing.
We know we have been successful when we have included the following:

Who? What? Where? When? Where? How? Why?
Write in past tense
Used words after, then, next, finally
ideas are in order
use similes, descriptive language to make our writing interesting

Read some of our cool recounts below:

H20 Extreme!

One Saturday in the holidays me and my family were running like crazy around the house.  We were trying fo find our togs.  Finally we jumped in the car.  Soon we were there.  We ran in line to pay.  Then we sped as fast as lightning to the changing rooms.

After that we were so excited we ran up the stairs.  We saw the 3 different slides.  One was pitch black, the other one was blue and the last one was yellow.  First I went down the blue slide it was too slow.  Then I went down the yellow slide that was too fast.  Then I went down the pitch black slide, that was perfect!

After that we went in the wave-pool.  Then it was home time, I was tired.
We all thought we would come again!

Sleepover

I jumped into the car and ran into All Saints Church.  I found where my team was and what team I was in.  I was in the cool green team.  I set up all my stuff with my friends.  Then we made a lovely flag.  We named our team Red Queen Girls!

Next we had to do lots of challenges like skipping, codes, target practising, taking a spoon full of water from a bucket to a jug and running around the church.

After that we did a lovely talent show.  I did Ode to Joy on the recorder.  Then we went outside and did torch patrol.

After that we went inside for a hot chocolate and talked about what we had heard.  Then we got into our sleeping bag and went to bed.

In the morning we quickly got ready and ate our breakfast.  We had yoghurt, chocolate cake, sausages, pancakes, pikelets and mini cereal packets.

Then we walked to the pool and got our togs on and jumped into the pool and had fun.  We walked back and got our lollies.  Our Mums picked us up and took us home.

We were the All Blacks and Ruby and Dad were South Africa.  I was first five eight and Hamish was centre.  I scored 7 tries and Hamish scored 5 tries.  Then we had dinner.

Weekend at Nana's

In the weekend I went to Nanas.  I was in the car with Scott.  When we got there me and nana drove to the park.  I went on the coolest thing.  The coolest thing was a wheel that spins really fast.
